Emirates Adopts New Technologies to Reduce Turbulence

Emirates has introduced new technologies aimed at reducing unexpected turbulence incidents during flights by integrating SkyPath, Lido mPilot, and IATA Turbulence Aware systems. The airline stated that through artificial intelligence, machine learning, and real-time data sharing, it aims to enhance the accuracy of turbulence forecasting.

Captain Hassan Alhammadi, Emirates’ Senior Vice President of Flight Operations, noted that while turbulence can never be completely eliminated, advanced technologies can help reduce the occurrence of unexpected severe turbulence. He added that these systems provide pilots with instant information, enabling safer and more informed flight planning decisions.

Under the new initiative, SkyPath analyzes real-time turbulence data, Lido mPilot provides pilots with detailed weather insights, and IATA Turbulence Aware combines data from airlines worldwide to analyze atmospheric conditions. Emirates emphasized that the integration of these systems has led to significant improvements in flight safety and passenger comfort.
